The Levantine Project is so-named because it speaks to our

dedication to help (re)create a cooperative, pluralistic society

which reflects the true mosaic nature of the Middle East.

Inclusive of many religions and cultures, this "Levantine"

society can occur anywhere people are committed to: mutual

respect; exploration of one another's cultural and religious

traditions; the sharing of social responsibility; the belief in

equal justice and freedom for all; and the knowledge that we

are all indeed multiple, complex, people, the sum of many

parts and cannot be separated into opposing entities.

This monthly community meeting provides space for everyone of Middle Eastern descent, and their friends, to engage in meaningful dialogue, discuss reconciliation, participate in cultural renewal projects (see some of those proposed below), take grassroots intiatives and work on issues concerning peace and justice.

Join us Wednesday, October 18, 8 pm, for the Levantine

Project, meeting at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center

in Venice, at 681 Venice Boulevard. Take the 10 Fwy West

exit at Lincoln Blvd., go south (left) to Venice, turn right

(west toward the beach) and it's on your right-hand side.

Please RSVP with Elham Ezzati, 323-953-0303 or

email: .
